this is a belated post of my 2d crit.
this was hard work! painted until 4am.
look. i was so happy when i finished it. but...
alas! i was slaughtered. it didn't quite express the theme of poetry. so...dammit. it's thrashed. (i cried when i went home, no one knows that.) it's not completed by the way. i was supposed to paint four panels. one for each season [google 'the 4 gentlemen']. but. well. i consulted my tutor and i reckon i'm gonna change my entire idea. start from scratch. i know. dumb right. but. ah. she didn't like this. she really didn't... :(
bummed out from 2d crit...and the stupid robots...and lonely valentine's day...rather flammable right now.
church or not, erratic the same.
friday: class cancelled cos of c-day so stayed home.
friday afternoon: was working on presentation but sidetracked to do class site. fark.
fri evening: and so ends the day still working on presentation.
saturday morning: invited by diw to form small group for 3d...
sat afternoon: went down for c-day at school. think it was a waste of my time.
sat evening: 3d project meeting with div & shim at nat library. we really worked pretty well together in those few hours. i'm happy. but. a bit worried. we haven't finalised the structure. and the manpower is seemingly low. we are supposed to form groups of 4-5 members, but me shim & div were separated and thrown into different groups. and...well. it's a long story. but. yeah. they didn't want to be in the groups they were thrown into. i...well...couldn't decide. i want very much to work with them but i wish we had one more member...so now a bit worried.
today morning: woke up early, but when i attempted to do my 2d, it seemed so tedious, and i was kinda sleepy, so i attempted to take a nap. alas, i never woke up again! oh for shame!
today afternoon: was sleeping!!! baah. oh dear. i hate myself. i have a lot of freaking work to do...die. die.
today evening: i was rushing out of my room for dinner when i slammed the door on my middle finger. it really hurts :( and it's my left hand!
tomorrow: i begin travelling on my own in the morning....crap.

this took me a few days to incomplete. but i'm sick of doing it! ugh. it's a bit incorrect but ah. i'm happy with the proportion of the people on the right. in fact the right side is better.
oh, and. the initial sketch of the main shapes:
2d this week was so. much. freaking. fun.
we listened to these selected music, some soothing, some jarring and some other sounds. and whilst we listened, we had to express what we felt visually with lines, shapes, colors but no figures or words or anything realistic. in short, it had to be abstract.
and i'm pretty proud of some of my works! (they are all in A4, except for the 3rd one which is A3 - oh i'm not so proud of this one, but it was one of the earlier pieces so i wasn't so in the zone yet.)
still gonna try it out again when i'm free :). cos i still find myself kinda detached from some of the tracks and does that represent my state of mind? i seem to only react well to the jarring music, somehow. and i cannot express the more pleasant music. gotta practice.
have a go if you'd like. remember to be abstract! you can use any medium - wet mediums (acrylic paint, inkwash, watercolors, poster colors, oils, pens, markers, blood, urea, mucus, pus from pimples, fruit juice) or dry (charcoal, pastels, chalk, graphite, color pencils, crayons...)
